OBE honour for outgoing chair
The outgoing chair of LionHeart, Peter McCrea FRICS, has been made an OBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for his services to the profession.
The citation in the King’s Birthday Honours list, published this weekend, read “lately Chair of LionHeart, for services to the profession of chartered surveyors”.
Peter stepped down from his role as chair earlier this month having served two three-year terms, making him the longest serving chair in recent decades. Having first volunteered as a trustee in January 2017, his term as chair saw sustained year-on-year growth in demand and expansion in services and included steering the board and staff team through Covid.
Peter said: “I am delighted to be honoured with an OBE for services to the profession, but equally that the work which the LionHeart staff, board, and volunteers do in supporting the surveying family is recognised through this award. I genuinely feel that I accept it on behalf of the whole LionHeart team, past and present.”
LionHeart CEO Phil Sparke said: “Peter has served LionHeart with dedication and commitment for almost eight years, including six as chair of the Board, and has been an amazing ambassador for the surveying profession for even longer. This is most worthy recognition for many years of service and commitment - a very proud moment for Peter and his family, and for LionHeart as a whole."
